Wedding Welcome Bags for Outer Banks Weddings | Blue Poppy Wedding Photographers

Welcome bags are popular for visiting guests at any wedding – if you’re having an Outer Banks wedding, chances are many of your guests will be staying in a beach house for the week. You probably won’t be able to welcome EVERY guest in person – the next best way to welcome them to your happy place is a custom wedding welcome bag! Here are some fun ideas we’ve seen plus some things to keep in mind when putting together your welcome gift.

Do you come from a family of wine drinkers? Do your fiancé’s fraternity brothers prefer liquor?

Add a nice bottle of tequila, some margarita mix + a few limes for a tropical vacation kick-off or a bottle of wine from a favorite vineyard near your hometown with custom wine glasses.

Think Local

The Outer Banks has some outstanding options for local libations. For wine, add a bottle of Sanctuary vineyards best-selling Wild Pony White to your welcome bag. It’s 32% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Gris, 18% Viognier, 14% Sauvignon Blanc & 16% Chardonnel – 100% crisp and refreshing + a portion of proceeds go to the Corolla Wild Horse fund!

For something a little harder try a small batch Kill Devil Rum from Outer Banks Distilling company. Their popular rums are available at local ABC stores and special series rums in limited quantities (per customer) at the distillery in downtown Manteo. Or how about a 6 pack of local beer? The Weeping Radish and the Outer Banks Brewing Station both offer beer for sale and you’ll find it in local grocery stores and specialty wine and beer shops like Trio Restaurant and Market in Kitty Hawk, Chip’s Wine and Beer Market in Kill Devil Hills or Tommy’s Market and Wine in Duck. New for 2019, Northern Outer Banks Brewing Company offers 4 packs of their popular beers for sale on site too!

Add a local tasty treat for your guests from Sweater Box confections – offering amazing homemade cookies, macaroons and cheese pennies, these beautifully packaged treats will leave your friends and family smiling. Or include a customized tin of gourmet popcorn from Outer Banks Popcorn Shoppe in Corolla – try the decadent Corolla caramel flavor – caramel popcorn mixed with whole almonds and cashews.

Consider a custom beach tote with your wedding date to put everything in, or for a less expensive option, have a local print shop make stickers with your wedding branding and date to put on beautiful gift bags. Or, for a fun option put everything in a big beach bucket!

Will you have kids as guests at your wedding? Welcome little nieces and nephews with a fun beach kit with a pail and shovel and a fun float – or for older kids a beautiful beach towel so they can always remember this vacation. And of course, ANY kinds of snacks or treats will be well-received by this crowd.

While certainly not necessary, welcoming guests to your Outer Banks destination wedding with a gift bag can help make your wedding and their stay a time they will never forget.
