The Allure of an Outer Banks Wedding

Bethany and Jared Outer Banks Wedding Bride Groom Beach Coastal Wedding Photographers

There is something truly enchanting about the Outer Banks, whether you grew up visiting for family beach vacations or you’ve read about it in the latest Coastal Living magazine, it’s hard to think of a more captivating setting for a wedding.

Windswept beach dunes, wild horses, soundfront sunsets and glimmering Atlantic surf all combine for a pretty powerful setting to begin a new life together.

While it’s hard to put a finger on what exactly makes this place so special, these are a few reasons we think that the Outer Banks is a perfect wedding destination:

1 – It’s Wild – unlike other more commercial beach destinations,  here you’ll still find wild horses roaming the beaches and dolphins playing in the surf; there are sea turtles who come ashore to nest and the night skies are unpolluted and filled with stars.

2 – Hundreds of Miles of Coastline and Over a Dozen Unique, Charming Villages. Whether you get married in the village of Corova among the wild horses, or with the famed Cape Hatteras lighthouse in the background in Buxton, there is an Outer Banks beach and village to suit your wedding style.

3 – Weddings are our Specialty – From Boho to Black Tie, the Outer Banks has long been a popular wedding destination and here you’ll find specialists to fill every wish you’ve dreamed of.  There are venues and vendors to meet the needs of even the most discerning couples.

4 – Activities – Surfing, parasailing, hang gliding, or just relaxing in the sand with a drink in your hand – there are unique and fun things to do for you, your wedding party and your guests making the trip even more worthwhile than the spectacular main event!

5 – VACAtion – the Outer Banks at its’ simplest is a vacation destination.  That means your wedding party and your guests will likely want to extend the fun and spend a week vacationing at the beach. Your family and friends have traveled from all over to spend time with you both on your wedding day – what could be better than that? Hanging out with them all week!

6 – We’re a “drive-to” destination – for many of our couples and their guests, the Outer Banks is within a day’s drive. You get all the benefits of a destination wedding (relaxing far away from work, not entertaining guests in your own home, etc.) without worrying about how much luggage you can bring or buying a plane ticket!

7 – It’s Going to be Memorable – while a hometown chapel ceremony or a local country club wedding can certainly be meaningful, an Outer Banks wedding is something your family and guests will truly never forget!

Now, what are you waiting for! Let’s get your date scheduled and start planning.
